Oh dear! You’re so busy working in your business, keeping your clients and staff happy, managing multiple projects, that you’ve let your communications slide!

Today’s Blue51 Show and Tell is an overview of working with a business who needed to get back on track with their communications.

The project:

Communications Coaching with All Decked Out South Australia.

The client:

All Decked Out South Australia is a business that designs, builds and maintains beautiful outdoor spaces for Adelaide home-owners. The business is family-owned and operated, and is celebrating it’s 10th anniversary of operating, and operating successfully- which is particularly remarkable given the current decline in the construction industry.

The client’s target audience:

All Decked Out’s audience is primarily home-owners wishing to enhance their outdoor living space. All Decked Out have discovered over the past ten years of operation that it’s actually female home owners who not only make the key decisions around their outdoor space, they are also usually the main contact before, during and after the actual construction phase.

The approach:

All Decked Out is a beautiful, and incredibly successful business with incredible PR and communications opportunities.  The business has extensive testimonials and a strong, long term reputation for being professional, customer-focussed, trusted and trustworthy. However, due to the busyness that accompanies such success, the owners have been so caught up in running their business that they’ve had a scattergun approach to communications, rather than strategic, thoughtful and aligned to business goals. Pair this with some fantastic umbrella services set to be launched, and it was high time for a communications overhaul to increase and maintain a sustainable and optimal level of new business enquiries, as well as promote the new services to existing and former clients.

I worked with All Decked Out  to create a comprehensive communications plan for their business. It detailed  their target audience, key messages and ideal channels to meet their business vision and goals, and to support the business with strong, effective, cohesive and consistent communications.

The results:

It’s early days- but on my advice, All Decked Out have claimed their social media real estate, have implemented a social media strategy that’s already being well received, and is set to give their old-faithful website a makeover to work a lot harder for the business. Some email campaigns are planned to promote the umbrella services, as well as a raft of other strategies that will boost brand awareness. Summer’s just around the corner, and a whole lot of people are going to be enjoying it from their new or their revitalised outdoor living space!

Feeling stuck in your business communications? Know that you’re not expressing yourself the way you’d like to, and thus not selling your business effectively? Not sure if your website is reflecting your business the way you intend it to? Wondering if your emails with your audience are hitting the mark? Want a guiding hand and some fresh, practical ideas for your business communications? Yes, yes, yes, yes and hell yes? Please get in touch– I’d love to help out.
